UM Women Stay Alive At Unaffiliated Tournament

DALLAS, Texas-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team defeated St. Mary 4-1 at the NAIA Unaffiliated Tournament in Dallas Tuesday.

The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and three other conferences are teaming up for the tournament with games remaining Wednesday and Friday. The tournament champ will advance to the 2009 NAIA National Championship. The Lady Rams (9-9-1) will face Carroll College Wednesday at 2:30 pm. The tournament is single-elimination.

Kassie Ruff and Olivia Maddox recorded goals in the first half as the Lady Rams built a 2-1 lead at half time. In the second half, Mobile kept up the pressure, and leading goal scorer Missy Stovall tallied a pair of goals to finish the scoring.

The first-half goal is Maddox's first goal of the season, while Stovall increased her season total to 17 goals.
